5 Reasons To Create Your Own Sanctuary

Altars have been a part of society since Biblical times. Growing up Catholic, the altars at churches I went to were elaborately decorated and could easily cost a lot of money just to build them. Now that I have become more spiritual and not tied to any one organized religion anymore, I have dreamed of having my own when I chanced upon the book “Altars: Bringing Sacred Shrines into Everyday Life” by Denise Linn. Drawn by the big angel figurine used as its cover, I’m keen to find a similar one. But at the moment, I found a big canvas cloth with the angel design on it that I let it hang on a huge wall at my house. Below is a pic of my own altar. It’s still a work in progress as I plan on adding more symbols of what I want to have in my life.
